7 lucky mainstays, 29 newcomers hit Top Workplaces list

Seven Oklahoma companies are on a roll. They’ve made the list in each of the seven years The Oklahoman’s Top Workplaces contest has existed.

Meanwhile, 29 companies hit the list for the first time this year, including the No. 1 midsize employer, Bethany Public Schools, and No. 1 and No. 2 small employers: Stability Growth cannabis grower and John W. Rex Charter School.

This year’s contest has made room for more firms at the top, recognizing 22 winners — versus 20 — among large employers of 350 or more workers; 23 vs. 20 midsize employers of 125 to 349; and 45 vs. 40 small employers.

In the large employer category, veteran seven-year winners — Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Ben E. Keith Company wholesale food distributor and Paycom Software Inc. — took the No. 1, 2 and 5 spots, while Southwestern Medical Center finished No. 20. Among midsize companies, seven-year mainstay BKD CPAs & Advisors claimed the No. 17 spot.

Newcomers claimed four of the 22 spots on the large employer list, including Piedmont Public Schools, Red Rock Behavioral Health Services, Shawnee Public Schools and McAlester Regional Health Center.

Among the 23 midsize winners were five newcomers, including Bethany Schools, CMSWillowbrook Inc. construction management company., B+T Group wireless communication, ENLINK Midstream oil and gas company and Dal-Tile porcelain floor tile company.

Of the 45 small employers designated as Top Workplaces, three veterans took the No. 3 through 5 spots: Altus-based Aviation Training Consulting LLC, The First State Bank and OKIE811, while seven-year notables, EOG Resources and Saxum, took the No. 19 and 44 spots.

Twenty companies are first-timers. Those include Stability, John Rex, Orthodontic Associates, GSB Inc. Architects & Planners, Casualty Corporation of America Inc., Garver engineering firm, GDH Consulting Inc. staffing firm, Audubon Companies oil and gas, The Container Store, Johnson & Associates Consulting, Miratech Corporation environmental emission and acoustic products, TEAM Professional Companies, Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center, K20 Center for Educational and Community Renewal, Lifeshare Transplant Donor Services of Oklahoma Inc., Rich & Cartmill Insurance, factor 110 Blue Circle Productions 110 Events, Brainerd Chemical Company Inc., Impressions Printing, and Innovative Health Systems Inc.
